Tea Leoni Biography

Elizabeth Téa Pantaleoni was born on February 25, 1966, in New York. She is the daughter of Anthony Pantaleoni, a corporate lawyer, and Emily Patterson, a dietician. She has one brother named Thomas Pantaleoni. She graduated from the Putney School in Putney, Vermont in 1984, and attended Sarah Lawrence College, where she studied anthropology and psychology.

Leoni's acting career started on television in 1989 when she was cast as a temporary replacement for the part of Lisa DiNapoli on the series Santa Barbara. After a small part as "Connie the Dream Girl" in the 1991 comedy Switched, Leoni won a role in A League of Their Own in 1992, alongside big shots Madonna, Tom Hanks and Geena Davis.

Leoni won a role on the sitcom Flying Blind, but the series was canceled during the first season. In 1994, she appeared in Wyatt Earp, and in 1995 she made a guest appearance on the hit series Frasier, in which she played Sam's fiance. Also in 1995, she starred in the box-office hit Bad Boys, with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, and landed the lead role in the television sitcom The Naked Truth, playing Nora Wilde, a tabloid news journalist. She stayed with the show until it ended in 1998.

After The Naked Truth ended she returned her focus to film, and in 1998, she appeared in one of her best known roles as the star of Deep Impact. After taking some time off from acting during her pregnancy with her first child, she returned to the big screen in 2000 alongside Nicolas Cage in The Family Man. The following year she fended off dinosaurs in the second installment of the Jurassic Park series.

In 2002, Leoni worked with Woody Allen in his film, Happy Endings, and starred with Kim Basinger and Al Pacino in the crime flick, People I Know. After taking another break from acting to have her second child, she returned in her husband, David Duchovny's House of D in 2004. That same year she played Adam Sandler's chaotic wife in Spanglish. In 2005, she was seen robbing stores in the comedy Fun with Dick and Jane, also starring Jim Carrey.

Leoni next appeared in You Kill Me, in 2007, a comedic drama about an alcoholic hit man (Ben Kingsley) who crosses paths with a lonely woman (Leoni). In 2008, she will be seen in Ghost Town, a fantasy romantic comedy co-starring Ricky Gervais and Greg Kinnear.

Leoni was married to Neil Tardio from February 1992 - October 1995, and she married actor David Duchovny on May 6, 1997. She and Duchovny have two children together, a daughter, Madelaine West Duchovny (born 4/24/99) and a son, Kyd Miller Duchovny (born 6/15/02).
