| Molly Sims Biography
Molly Sims was born on May 25, 1973, in Murray, Kentucky, to Jim and Dottie Sims. She studied pre-law for two years at Vanderbilt University, located in Nashville, Tennessee, before dropping out in 1993 to pursue a full time modeling career. Sims sent photographs of herself to modeling agencies in New York, and the NEXT Modeling Agency soon signed a contract with her. Through the NEXT agency, Sims traveled to Germany, London and Milan for photo shoots. Her big break came when she first appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 2000. She was so popular with the magazine's readers that she was brought back to pose for the swimsuit edition in 2001 and again in 2006. Sims has posed for top photographers and magazines all over the world including Elle, Vogue and Madame Figaro. She has also appeared in a number of advertising campaigns including those for Nautica, Armani, Chanel and Victoria’s Secret. She is a spokemodel for Cover Girl, and became the official spokeswoman for Old Navy in 2001. In addition to modeling, Sims has also added some acting to her resume. She started by hosting MTV's House of Style following in the footsteps of fellow models Rebecca Romijn and Cindy Crawford. Sims also hosted the 2001 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the World’s Sexiest Athletes and MTV’s Mardi Gras both in 2002. Her debut acting performance was in 2002, when she appeared on an episode of the television series Andy Richter Controls the Universe, followed by an episode of the short-lived The Twilight Zone in 2003. Also in 2003, Sims landed a regular role on the drama series Las Vegas, playing the sexy and manipulative Delinda Deline. In 2004, Sims made an appearance in Starsky & Hutch starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. In 2006, she appeared in Venus & Vegas with Jaime Pressly, and in the comedy The Benchwarmers with David Spade, Jon Heder and Rob Schneider. |
