| Jordana Brewster Biography
Jordana Brewster was born in Panama on April 26, 1980. Her father, Alden Brewster, is an American investment banker and her mother, Maria Joao Leal de Sousa, is a former Sports Illustrated model from Brazil. Brewster was raised in London, England until she was 6, when her family moved to her mother's home country, Brazil. Brewster lived in Rio de Janeiro for 4 years, during which time, she learned to speak fluent Portuguese. When she was 10, Brewster's family moved to Manhattan. Brewster attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart (an all-girl Catholic school) and graduated from the Professional Children's School, both located in New York. She then attended Yale University and graduated in 2003. Brewster made her professional acting debut in 1995, on the soap opera, All My Children. She appeared in just one episode and played Anita Santos. Brewster also appeared on As the World Turns, this time in a reoccurring role as Nikki Munson from 1995 to 1998. In 1998, Brewster made her film debut in the horror film, The Faculty, playing cheerleader Delilah, alongside Josh Hartnett and Clea DuVall. The following year she was seen in the television miniseries, The 60s, playing an anti-war teenager. In 2001, she played Cameron Diaz's sister in The Invisible Circus, before appearing in her claim to fame role as Mia Toretto in The Fast and the Furious. After The Fast and the Furious, Brewster took a break from acting to complete her schooling at Yale. She returned to the big screen in the teen comedy, D.E.B.S. in 2004. In 2006, she won the female lead in the military drama, Annapolis, starring James Franco and Donnie Wahlberg. Also in 2006, Brewster was cast in the lead role of Chrissie, in the prequel film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. |
