Heidi Montag came into the public eye in 2005 when she appeared in a few episodes of the MTV reality show, Laguna Beach. This led to a spin-off show titled The Hills, which featured Montag and roommate Lauren Conrad (star of Laguna Beach), as they attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. Montag dropped out of school after she was hired as an intern at Bolthouse Productions, and over the course of 2 years Montag was promoted to event planner at the company. The Hills was such a success that it ran 3 full seasons. The continuation of Montag's participation on the show is unclear, as she and Conrad no longer live together and have had a falling out. In addition to her dramatic relationship with friend Lauren Conrad, a major focus of Montag's life on television has been her love life. In 2005, she dated Jordan Eubanks, and their relationship was documented in the first season of The Hills. In the spring of 2006, Montag ended her relationship with Eubanks. During the summer of 2006, Montag began dating Spencer Pratt, and the couple became engaged in May of 2007. Montag's relationship with Pratt is a major feature of season two of The Hills, at the end of which Montag moved out of her apartment with Lauren Conrad to live with Pratt. Other than her MTV reality show fame, Montag has tried to start a singing career. In early 2007 she recorded an album and in August 2007, her song titled "Body Language" was aired on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. The song features Spencer Pratt rapping and Montag claims that the song was leaked without her permission and would not be her first single. In September 2007, Montag performed her first legitimate single titled "Higher" in Las Vegas. Beside her budding singing career and reality show drama, Montag thrust herself into the spotlight in April 2007, when she had breast implants (up to C cups) and a nose job performed by plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan. After healing from her surgeries, Montag appeared on the beach almost daily flaunting her new body for paparazzi. |
